*Edit* I dramatically increased the contrast and darkness levels. While it doesn't feel as much like the natural graphite pencil anymore, I have to say it looks better overall, and is more eye-catching as a thumbnail.
Alright!! At long long last, I'm FINALLy finished with this! So while I appreciate the time it takes to analyze and critique, bear in mind that nothing's going to change after this point. I've already completely revamped a lot of the values and most of the scales due to a major oopsie when I tried to "smooth it out" as recommended. SO. Enough with that!
Please enjoy, and I really want to open this up to prints, so if you're interested, make sure you let me know!
Oh, and Please don't make me watermark this by being stupid and trying to steal/modify and repost this. I haven't had issues with art theives yet, and I'd like to keep it that way. Thanks.
great work! i like the details and the shading a lot. the proportions and the expression is great too. a little more cleaness, and i'd call it perfect!
Hey, thanks for being so specific! By cleaness, is it the pencil texture (it's kind of grainy right now, and I'm wondering if I should use a blending tortillon or not. Would make everything a lot smoother, but would lock me into quite a few more hours of work)? Or is it just that there's a lot of pencil streaks right now? (those I had planned on working on some more before I call this finished)
i was thinking about the texture. grainy is the right word i guess. but its really no big of a deal i guess. as i said, its just the last drop of perfektion that is missing. i dont think you have to spend hours blending, its good the way it is!
i'm looking forward to seeing the finished work *g*
Haha, thanks! Yeah, we'll see. Something like this I don't mind spending more time on, because I think it would be worth it, but nevertheless. Thanks again for your input!
oh? *suddenly feels very special!!* Seeing this one up in my gallery makes me Really want to finish it, and to do more like this, too. It really wasn't very Hard, it was just a matter of thinking it through ahead of time and maximizing on details/texture, so I'm sure I could do plenty more if I have the patience for it!
